Our repertoire covers songs from bushrangers (what Bushranger Bush Band wouldn't perform a bushranger song or two!!?), shearers, songs of the sea, drovers, mining, rebellion, traditional love songs, patriotic Australian songs, a dash of country and Celtic melodies and instrumentals and also a few "ring ins". We also perform songs of Banjo Paterson and Henry Lawson verse. As well as performing with an Australiana flavour, we are able to add a touch of modern to our performances. Some songs feature three part harmonies. We also have a wide range of instruments which make a performance "interesting", with tin whistles in various keys, mandolin, fife, Irish flute, Appalachian dulcimer, harmonica, bodhran, bass guitar, guitars and lagerphone. Each member of the band is multi-talented and plays a number of instruments. For bush dances all dancing tuition is provided by our dance-caller "extraordinaire". Our dances cater for all ages and talents and include many of the "old favourite" dances such as Hokey Pokey, Heel/Toe Polka, Drongo, and many many more. |
